Before anyone says it, I will; I'm a slacker! Maybe SkisGirl is right, I should change this site to Rowlett "Weekly" Photo. I will still blame it on work though; stupid work!!!
Anyway, I found this awesome burger joint in Rowlett called Burger-Xtreme. It is located on the southwest corner of Rowlett Road and Highway 66. They have been open for a few months but I have wanted to give them a shot but haven't until this past weekend.
Burger-Xtreme makes insanely large burgers with tons of fillings at "Xtremely" affordable prices. They have an every day deal that if you purchase a burger, large fries, and 2 drinks, you get a burger of equal or lesser value for free.
This deal will feed 2 people for at least 2 meals and only costs $11.50 (may sound expensive but for the amount of food, very cheap). Each burger has a half pound of beef loaded with sauteed onions, mushrooms, jalapenos, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard. And this is only the regular extreme burger.
They also have extreme supreme burgers, double extreme supreme burgers, and on and on and on. They also have some very unique burgers on their menu such as the Hawaiian burger that is a hamburger patty, topped with shaved ham, pinapples, and teriaki sauce.
If your in the area, check it out; you won't regret it!!! Below is a picture of the "Xtreme Burger" and fries. It is much bigger than the picture suggests; trust me ;-)
This is the outside of Burger-Xtreme. Look for it in the same parking lot as Nick's Sports Bar & Grill.

I Told Ya So!
As mentioned in my last post, my wife is an addict! Just to prove it more, this past weekend we went to Lone Star Park . Lone Star Park is a horse track, located in Grand Prarrie, TX. She just can't get enough gambling.
It was an awesome time at the races. Many friends came out to join us and made it even more fun. It was good to see Brian and Jim (Terrell Daily Photo) and even SkisGirl out there! SkisGirl was a nice surprise. Jim hit a superfecta on the last race. Too bad he's cheap and only bet 10 cents. Still better than losing.
Me personally, I lost money on the day :-( Not too bad though, I still have a house and car. I did make up for the losses by purchasing SEVERAL $1 beers. At least that is my thinking.
Below is a picture of a stupid gluebag I put money on. He's the one racing to sniff the butt of the one in front because he sure wasn't running for the finish line. Stupid horse!!!
Hopefully it won't be this long before the next post. Work has been killing me lately!

Addict!!!
Today's picture features a couple of Kim's slot machines. We love Las Vegas and go several times a year. When Las Vegas is too far away, we often find ourselves taking a 2.5 hour trip to Shreveport, LA to gamble on the riverboats. Also, when we are at our the lake house at Lake Texoma, Choctaw indian casino is only a meer 30 miuntes away. You guessed it, we go there often to!
In my defense, Kim is the one that normally initiates our gambling travel. I will admit, I rarely turn down the offer because I do love to gamble as well. But this picture just goes to show how bad she has "the itch". I'm only showing you 2 of 3 slot machines she bought; it is ridiculous. My computer has about 5 different gambling games installed on it; not by me. She subscribes to several different gambling magazines; Stricly Slots, Casino Player, Southern Gambling, etc...
SHE IS AN ADDICT!!!! (love ya Kim ;-))

Bass Pro Shops
It's been a busy week and just getting around to updating the site...Stupid Work!!!
Anyway, here is a picture of the Bass Pro Shops in Rowlett/Garland on Lake Ray Hubbard. It is located off of I30 and Bass Pro Drive (formally Chaha Road). Funny how when a Bass Pro moves in, the road names change. The same thing happened in Grapevine, TX. Stupid Corporations!
When the Rowlett Bass Pro opened up 2 years ago, talk about freakin' traffic! I remember driving on I30 to Dalrock and it took me over an hour for a normally 10 minute drive...Stupid Traffic!
The Bass Pro parking lot was completely full and people were parking on the side of the freeway to go into the store. Are fishing lures really that exciting? Don't get me wrong, I do love a good fishing lure but not willing to deal with crowds...Stupid Crowds!
I guess I feel like everything is stupid today :-) Kind of like today's post...hehe!

We have FISH!!!!
Well I'm back from a nice weekend at Lake Texoma and the tournament went much better than expected but started off a little rough. After a decent night of drinking Friday night, Mike and I had to get up at 5:30 in the morning for the fishing tournament. DAMN that's early!!!
We headed to the Oklahoma side of the lake and dropped anchor. No fish :-( Pulled the anchor up and "attempted" to start the boat. Wouldn't start! I have a battery jumper in the boat and tried that, still no success. I thought I was going to have to call the park ranger to tow me into the marina. Luckily I decided to check the battery cables and sure enough the one of the thumb screws on the battery had come loose. Once that was tightened, we were on our way again.
We headed west and found a few guide boats anchored. Decided to drop anchor around them. They hate that by the way ;-) Here came the fish!!! I pulled in 5 stripers and Mike got none. Then ran out of bait and had to head back to the docks to get more.
After about 20 minutes of driving, realized I had no idea of where we were :-( Since it was dark when we left, we got a bit turned around, not to mention I have no sense of direction. Another lucky moment, I had a GPS hand held unit that told me I was heading in the opposite direction. Needless to say, we turned around and after quite a long drive, got more bait.
We had about 2 more hours before the tournament ended so headed back out. Unfortunately, we were not able to find the fish again. So we headed back to the docks for the weigh-in.
In total, we (technically I :-)) had about 11 lbs of fish with one being being 5.3 lbs. The 5.3 lbs fish was 23 inches in length and took me about 5 minutes to reel in and get into the boat. What a fight!!!
I'm sad to say that we did not win tournament nor the big fish prize. It was close though. We were able to get 2nd place which exceeded all our expectations as well as everyone we know.
Below are just a couple of the fish I caught during the tournament (I only have 2 hands ;-)).
After the tournament and a quick nap, we headed back out for some evening fishing. Boy am I glad we did; I caught another 5 stripers! Below is a picture of one of them.
Mike's day was not a total loss, he managed to catch one 20 inch striper. As you can see by his expression, one fish does not entirely make up for a whole day of being skunked...hehe!
I cannot wait to get back on the lake but now it is back to reality...work :-(

Lake Life
Rowlett is a community surrounded by water with many small harbors. The picture below is one of the harbors in Rowlett. It is located on Lake Ray Hubbard off of I30 and Dalrock. An old friend of mine had quite a nice 60ft sailboat docked here. Me personally, I prefer a motorboats over sailboats. Sailboats are too slow and lots of work.
While I love Lake Ray Hubbard, I also enjoy Lake Texoma. In fact, after this blog, I will be packing up the truck to head to Texoma with some friends. We have joined our first fishing tournament. We aren't expecting to win but at least hoping to not get skunked.
Hopefully I will have some nice fishing pictures (e.g. me with fish :-)) to show everyone when I return on Sunday.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Nice View!
Now you have seen where I live, time to show you were I work. Instead of taking a picture of the offices, I thought I would show you my view.
You will notice the gold builing on the left of the picture. This is the south tower and I work in the north tower. Both buildings are identical with a Double Tree hotel connecting them both. I work on the 16th floor and have an awesome view of downtown Dallas. This morning is especially clear but unfortunately this picture really does not do the view justice.
Before I end this post, I would like to give credit to my buddy Jim at Terrell Daily Photo for inspiring me to start this blog/site. Thanks man!!!!

My Rowlett Home
Welcome to my blog site! As mentioned in my profile, I will be posting photos of my city, Rowlett, TX and things personal to me.
Since this is my first post, I thought I would show you where I have lived since 2002. While I love my home, I much more prefer to be somewhere else most times such as Las Vegas (best city in the world) or at the lake fishing (preferably catching them ;-)).
My neighborhood is a good one, with very little crime. I feel quite safe letting my daughter, Chelsea, roam the neighborhood with her friends. Being the over-protective parent that I am, I refuse to let her walk around by herself. Not mention, she is an only child. I use the mentality that I only have one kid and no back-ups...hehe!
Rowlett is not totally crime-free though. Ever heard of Darlie Routier? Yep, the pride and joy of Rowlett (scarcasism, gotta love it). She is this psycho that stabbed and killed both her young sons but was only prosecuted and convicted for one. Currently, she sits on death row waiting for the state of Texas to do what they do better than any other state.
I hate to leave you on such a depressing topic so how about a joke? Yes or No, you're getting one anyway...
A guy goes in to see a psychiatrist. He says, "Doc, I can't seem to make any friends. Can you help me, you fat bastard?"
